Q1: In addition to low cost laptops, will you also offer higher performance laptops? What functionality will your laptops support?
A: We are committed to bringing the best quality laptops to you at the most affordable prices.
Our laptop notebooks will cover two broad categories
(1) Basic Laptops at Lowest Cost
(2) High Performance Laptops at Best Value
So we will have something for all customers: entry level laptops as well as high performance laptops.
The entry level laptops will be priced at less than $250 (for international customers) or less than Rs. 9995 (for customers based in India).
The laptops will support Linux as well as Microsoft Windows XP operating systems. And they will have enough capability to perform all the regular tasks that an average user expects from a laptop, such as:
- Internet browsing
- Voice chat
- Document editing
- Music and Movie playback
The high performance laptops are more powerful. They are based on some of the latest chipsets and processors and consequently support many, more recent functionality, such as:
- High performance Intel and AMD processors
- 1-2 GB RAM
- 60-160 GB Hard Drive storage space
- Bluetooth
- Built-in web-cam
Where possible, we will give our customers an option to upgrade some performance parameters at the time of purchase.
Our business agreements prevent us from releasing all details before the actual launch, but we will be sharing updates through emails to our subscribers. Please sign-up to receive regular updates and special offers as we get ready to launch.
Q2: When are you planning to start selling the laptops? How can I purchase them?
A: We are currently going through some finer details in organizing our back-end and logistics. We expect to launch the laptops in the next few weeks.
Our customers will have multiple options to buy the laptops.
- You can make the purchase online through our website.
- A few demo laptops will also be available on display at select 7to9 Retail supermarkets in India. Buyers will have the option to look at and play with the laptops at these stores. You can book the laptop through these stores and we will ship the laptops to the shipping address you provide with your order.
- We will do road-shows for demonstrating these laptops in several cities in India or other countries worldwide, through our partner network. You can book your laptop during these road-shows as well and we will ship them to your address.
Q3: I belong to an organization and we are interested in buying more than 10 laptops. Are there any special schemes for bulk-purchase?
A: Yes, individuals and organizations interested in bulk-purchase (more than 10 laptops per order) will get special discount pricing. Whether you are an individual, a small company, a school or university, you will benefit from our best value pricing when you make a bulk purchase. Q5. Do you manufacture laptops or do you procure them from other suppliers?
A. We are doing whatever it takes to get you the best value laptops at the most affordable prices all over the world. As you will shortly see, we will be offering laptops under our own brand name as well as under other brand names (e.g. Dell).
The laptop under our brand name are manufactured by OEMs as per our specification. We ensure that these laptops have the highest quality.
Other brand name laptops are carefully selected by our team based on the “value for money” proposition that they offer for our customers. We use our organizational efficiencies to sell these laptops at lowest prices possible.
Q6. How do you offer laptop support if I face any problems?
A. We have a dedicated team of technicians who are there to help you in case you run into any problems while using 7iDigital laptops. Currently we provide two levels of support w.r.t these laptops:
- Phone / Email support: After you make the purchase, you will be able to use your unique id to interact with the technical support team over phone or email regarding any problems that you may face with the laptop. If the problem is not resolved over phone / email, the support team would recommend the next steps to you which may include mailing / couriering the laptops to your nearest 7iDigital office.
- Mail-in support: This option will be required for any problems that require physical examination of the laptop. The user would need to ship/ courier the laptop to our support center where it would be examined and any necessary repairs will be carried out. Once the repairs are done, the laptop will be shipped back to you. All expenses related to shipment of the laptop will be borne by the company in the case of mail-in support.
Support for laptops under other brand names will be provided by the support centers of respective companies.
Q7. If the laptop is coming from overseas, will there be any issue with customs clearance or import duty?
A. For laptops shipped to an address in India, 7iDigital will take care of customs and import duties if the laptops arrive from overseas.
For laptops shipped to other countries, in order to get the lowest price benefit, customers may need to take care of customs and import duties themselves. Customers will be informed about this during the order process.
Q8. Can I speak with other customers of your laptops before I buy?
A. If you are interested to get feedback on our laptops, do get in touch with us. We will be happy to put you across to some of our existing customers.
Q9. How long will it take for the laptop to arrive after I place the order?
A. The delivery time for laptops will depend on the shipping address. Most orders should arrive within 7-15 days. You will be informed about the expected delivery date at the end of the order process.
Q10. Can you arrange for laptop financing?
A. We are still working through some options related to financing and are not in a position to support request for financing the laptops. Please let us know about your need for financing through the contacts page and we will get back in touch with you when we make progress w.r.t this purchase option.
